Tie rod ends serve to move the tires, directly influencing the control, security, and lifespan of the tires. As one drives, tires may jolt due to an irregular surface, but the rod end is typically attached to the chassis and the tie rod end provides vertical and horizontal steering capability.

USES:

Tie rods and tie rod end ball joints are what connect the steering rack gearbox to the steering knuckles so the turning input from the driver makes its way to the wheels. Tie rods thread onto the steering rack to also allow for steering alignment adjustments to be made.
