OVERVIEW:

Tie rod end is responsible for pushing and pulling the tires, ultimately influencing directional control, safety, and the longevity of the tires. As vehicles drive, the road can be uneven, leading to tire bumps; however, with the tie rod end securely fixed to the car body, it can carry out its steering capacities both vertically and horizontally.

USES:

Tie rods and tie rod end ball joints are what connect the steering rack gearbox to the steering knuckles so the turning input from the driver makes its way to the wheels. Tie rods thread onto the steering rack to also allow for steering alignment adjustments to be made.
