Tie rod ends are important components which enable tires to properly articulate when the vehicle is in motion. This motion, coupled with the ability to be steered, is provided by the tie rod end by allowing the tires to move in a vertical and horizontal manner. This action helps the stability, control, and safety of the vehicle, as well as extending the life of the tires.

USES:

Tie rods and tie rod end ball joints are what connect the steering rack gearbox to the steering knuckles so the turning input from the driver makes its way to the wheels. Tie rods thread onto the steering rack to also allow for steering alignment adjustments to be made.
