All New Ducati V2 Engine

Before we get into ride review we must have a look at Ducati’s all new V2 engine. if you have checked the performance specs then you must be wondering why they look similar with past engine. but let me tell you even those numbers are same (15 horsepower and 92Nm of torque) the real world feel is totally different.

Yes, you will need to adjust with its acceleration to achieve top numbers but once you get to it then you will find it very fun to drive. In starting i felt that there is need to accelerate more but when i started getting comfortable with it i felt its rev very playful. not going to lie i felt like driving KTM’s 890 or 990 motors. It just felt very lively to me, It’s got that “twist it and grin” factor.

In this new V2 engine Ducati has ditched their complex desmodromic valve system and replaced with traditional spring-actuated valves. plus there is added variable valve timing on the intake that not only improves usability in rev range but also brings down maintenance cost significantly.

Weight Loss Done Right

Ducati has done great job with weight reduction. It has impressively cut down more than 18kg to bring down its overall weight to 202kg.

They’ve replaced the iconic trellis frame with a new structural setup similar to the Multistrada V4 engine as a stressed member, aluminum front frame, and a bolt-on subframe. This makes this bike very light in the top and easy to handle in u-turns and stop-start traffic.

Ride, Ergonomics & Comfort

At 5’10”, I tested the bike with the standard seat in the high position, and while I was on tiptoes at a standstill, it gave a much more natural riding triangle when moving. That tall, commanding ADV riding posture really suits the Multistrada’s nature. And for riders of all sizes, the seat can be adjusted between two positions, with optional low/high seats and a suspension lowering kit available.

Another Another standout feature for me was the windscreen. Easily one of the best adjustable windshields I’ve used—no fuss, no fighting with clamps, just a simple push/pull tab that works like it should. When raised, it provided surprisingly clean airflow, even better than the new Tiger Sport 800 I rode to the event.

Semi-active suspension on this S model seemed to be working very actively i felt smooth and comfortable ride throughout my ride.
